Good Morning!
My apologies but I am still back tracking since I didn’t write for so many days. Okay so I told you about my trip now the next investigating day was that Friday August 14th. My moms friend Rae came over and she was so fun. She played games with me while my mom finished getting ready. Rae had heard of a restaurant in the south end called Rocca that claims they love dogs and encourage people to bring their dogs to dine on the patio. Rae knows I am the pet friendly investigator so she told my mom we had to go there.
It was a scorcher outside. I had to have my mom hold my badge because it was too hot to wear anything but my personal fur coat. We walked for so long and at points I gave up and wouldn’t move. My mom had to pick me up and carry me. She was not a fan of my fur coat either and did mention finally taking me to the groomers, thank god!
Now I am very sad to tell you that I could NOT investigate Rocca because when we got there it seemed to be closed yet open. Confused? We were also! Let me explain… there was a sign on the street saying Rocca Patio open with an arrow pointing towards the patio. We walked to the patio and saw the hostess stand and dog bowls (empty dog bowls booo hoo) plus menus. Now here is where it got strange! There were no people! No customers, no work staff, nada! Rae tried to go inside but the doors were locked and when we called it said it was open but clearly it wasn’t. Very frustrated!!
We ended up eating at the Red Fenz. I am not sure if the Red Fenz lists themselves as pet friendly but they sure are! As soon as we walked in the waitress could tell that I was close to fainting and went and got me water. We hadn’t even told her yet if we were going to eat here! AMAZING!
We sat on their HUGE porch and I got my own plate with some weird food my mom was eating and my own water bowl. It ended up being a great day regardless of the fact that Rocca lied to us!!
It is time for my morning walk but I will tell you all about Friday night as soon as I return. Friday night was my aunties going away party so get ready for a great story!

Dear Diary,
It has been pretty crazy since Saturday so I apologize for not writing sooner. Let me start at the beginning….
Saturday morning my roommate, aunt and my mom left me to go sailing. I was very mad that I was not going once again but I was excited for my day with Matt. Matt came later in the day and freed me from my cage! I began to notice that Matt was making a little bag of my stuff. At first I thought he was getting ready to stuff me back in my cage but next thing I knew he put me into my harness. I had no clue what was going on but I did know that Matt was not putting me back into the cage. Woo hoo!!
Matt ended up taking me over to his apartment. It was so fun. I explored for hours and I did not pee inside! Trust me I wanted to mark my territory but I was scared he would never bring me back if I did. Matt had a huge couch that I could run around on but my legs kept falling between the cushions. It was annoying but it made Matt laugh.
Some of his friends came over and they were really nice to me. One friend even got down onto the floor to play with me but she smelled like a dog so I kept barking at her. It was confusing since I knew she wasn’t a dog but my nose was telling me something different. Matt told me later that she has two big dogs at home and that was the reason for the smell. Oopps… sorry for barking at you M’am, hope you are reading this. Do you accept my apology?
My mom, aunt and roommate returned later at night. I was passed out on Matt’s enormous couch since it was almost midnight. As soon as I heard my moms voice I woke right up. I was scared that I was going to have to sleep without her. I jumped all over her and we chased each other around the house for awhile. I was beyond excited and so was she. We all went home together and I fell fast asleep in bed with my mom.
Sunday my roommates aunt and cousin came to town. Her aunt is the best. She played with me and treated me just like a person. I was exhausted so when my roommate put me in my cage I didn’t even put up much of a fight. Well I did still put a little fight, don’t want them to think I like my cage.
They went to the Red Sox game while I napped. As soon as I heard the door I wanted out of my cage. They took me for a long walk in the park. My roommate and her family told my mom to bring me to dinner when we were at the park! Love Aunt Jeannie and Jackie… (my roommates aunt and cousin).
I put my pet friendly investigator badge right there in the park and got ready to rate the restaurants. First stop was my OLD favorite restaurant Bar 29. You might be wondering why Bar 29 is now an OLD favorite of mine. Lets just say their paw rating has officiallly gone down! The mean girl with the braid from Starbucks sent her sister to work at Bar 29!
The hostess was very nice and very pet friendly (thank you hostess) but another employee was not (Starbucks sister, I think)!
We were about to sit down when this girl with brown hair ran over and said that I could not sit with my family. Excuse me.. I wanted to bark at her but I controlled it, I knew my mom would take control. The mean lady (Girl with the braid from Starbucks sister) told my mom that I could not sit at the table because I had to be outside of the restaurant. Strange considering we were all sitting out side. My mom informed her that she was going to put me on the side where the trees and dirt were plus tie me to her chair. Sounded reasonable to me but nooooo this lady was not having it. She told my mom that I would have to be tied up to the fence and they would give me water, whoopty doo they will give me water while I get trampled on the street, please! We left!
Our second stop was Parish Cafe. My mom was not surprised that I wasn’t allowed to eat here since the outside dining patio is fenced in and raised. I wont give it a paw rating due to the fact they are not listed as pet friendly and it was a shot in the dark that I would be allowed here. I began feeling bad for my roommate since her family was with us. She was amazing though and said she didn’t want to eat somewhere that i couldn’t eat. Her family agreed with her… Power to the Pups!
We ended up at Tealux on Newbury St for dinner. FIVE PAWS FOR THEM AND OUR AMAZING WAITER! I was allowed to sit under my moms chair on the patio and they even gave me water, haha Bar 29! I was not feeling well from the heat and the rejection. My mom could tell and put me on her lap. When the waiter came by he patted me instead of telling my mom to put me down. Love him! Because of Tealux it turned out to be a wonderful Sunday evening.
Yesterday, Monday, my aunt left for New Mexico and my roommate left for New York so it is just me and my mom this week. Cant wait to see what we discover this week, I will keep you posted for sure!

Dear Diary,
This morning my mom and I were both really tired and the weather didn’t help. I have never gotten to go to Starbucks before but this day my mom decided to take me. I knew she really wanted a coffee and this was a big deal that she was taking me. I jumped right inside her bag and didn’t bark at all. I put my cutest face on and opened my big puppy dog eyes. We got up to the register and my mom said something that sounded like a different language to the man behind the counter. The nice man asked what kind of puppy I was and said I was really cute. Everything was going great. We went to the other side of the place and waited for moms coffee.
Mom had a huge smile on her face until a snooty girl with blonde hair in a tight braid opened her mouth.
“Excuse me, there are no pets allowed in here,”
“Sorry, should I wait outside for my coffee?”
“That’s okay. Just wanted you to know,” she replied and then yelled at some employee to go and get more sugar.
If only that girl with the braid had known that I was a pet friendly investigator maybe she would of have been a little nicer. She took any paws I was thinking of giving Starbucks away!
Once we got outside my mom took me out of the bag and we went to the park. I could tell she was annoyed. I mean if I had ducked down and she had zipped the bag no one would have ever known I was even in there. My mom used to spend a lot of money at Starbucks but not sure we will be going there very often anymore.
Write more later!

Dear Diary,
The other day I went to Bar 29 with my mom and my best friend Matt (he is actually my mom’s boyfriend but also my best friend). It was on Newbury Street just like Joes American Bar and Grille so I was scared. If only I had known how different they were.
The staff at Bar 29 was so nice to me! We sat outside BUT this time I got to sit right under the table. They even brought me my own glass of water without my mom having to ask. We were there a long time. My mom and Matt had some cocktails and this girl sitting near us gave me dog treats. My mom had something called a Greek Salad and she loved it. I could of stayed there forever!
I highly recommend coming here!! Five paws for sure!!
Now my mom is working on her book that is due June 30th so we can’t go out as much. We went for a long walk yesterday and this scary big yellow dog tried to bite me! My mom was not happy about that!
Going to go play in my dog bed now. Write more later!

Dear Diary,
Today was a very interesting day! I was sleeping on the couch when the phone suddenly woke me up. I heard my mom saying something about yes we would love to go and she looked it up and the place is pet friendly. Pet friendly was all I needed to hear! I hate when I have to stay home alone.
I found out soon enough that my aunt, her boyfriend, my mom and myself were all going to lunch on Newbury St. My mom said that she looked online for pet friendly restaurants and Joe American Bar and Grille was listed as one.
I ran around Newbury St and as usual everyone kept asking my mom if they could pat me. I totally don’t care when people pat me, I even knocked over some little girl by accident. Oopps…
Anyways when we got to Joes American Bar and Grille my great day turned into a horrible day. Joes American Bar and Grille is so not pet friendly! If pet friendly means I can be within a 5 mile radius of the restaurant then I guess you could say its pet friendly.
Let me tell you why I hate this place:
1. As soon as we got there the staff gave me dirty looks… sorry I am a dog.. geez!
2. They said I had to be on the other side of the fence tied up next to my moms table
3. People kept stepping on me and when I tried to slide under the fence to protect myself I got stuck in the stupid bars!
4. No one even brought or offered me any water! How rude!
By the time we got home, I was dehydrated, bruised and mad that this place is listed as pet friendly! Oh well it is over now and I heard my aunt and mom say that we won’t be going back there!
Well I gotta go clean myself up after that, write more tomorrow! Make sure to check the restaurant page for my rating on this so called pet friendly restaurant!
