I Saw the Sun!

April 1st, 2010

The last four days the weather has been awful! Raining, more rain, and yes even more rain! My mom and roommate were so bored that they decided to move the whole apartment around. Well all they did was switch rooms but I am still trying to get used to it. It took them forever!! I could tell that they were tired and hadn’t thought it would be as much work as it turned out to be.. hehe.. I was laughing at them!

Since I couldn’t do much outdoor investigating I gave my City Living Puppy subscribers a treat with a full week of the best dog stuff on Etsy.com! Make sure you are subscribed so you won’t miss out on my finds!

Here are pictures that my mom took when we were trapped inside because of the rain….

Got A Haircut… Not Happy

March 13th, 2010

So my fur was very matted and they had no choice but to shave it. It is actually a pretty cute haircut but I am not used to it. I am really itchy and my ears keep bothering me. I can’t wait for it to grow but my mom keeps telling me how cute I look.. what do you think?

Struggling

February 22nd, 2010

Hi Everyone…

Sorry for not writing recently … all I have been able to do is get the daily newsletter out since my injury. I went to the vet and basically if my knee hasn’t healed itself in two weeks then I have to have surgery! I am crossing my fingers that I don’t have to have surgery.. But for the next two weeks I am basically on bed rest.. so frustrating and boring. I also have to take some horrible medicine that my mom and roommate squirt into my mouth… ugh! Sorry if I am being a downer today.. just miss my active self!!

Limping But Still Going Strong

February 17th, 2010

I hope you all had a great weekend and valentines day! I know I did… until last night! I was running in the house and slipped. I slid all the way across the floor and hit the wooden steps with my back leg. It was loud and my mom heard a pop once I stood up. So now I am limping but in a few days if its not better then I am going to the Vet… I hope it heals on its own!

Here are a few pictures from my weekend.. AND don’t forget to subscribe to my e-newsletter!

A Dog Hotel and Spa…Oh My!

February 9th, 2010

The other day my mom made me go to  Four Preppy Paws on Charles Street to get a fleece for our trip. While we were there they told us about their new dog hotel and spa! It sounds amazing. They provide transportation, boarding, daycare, and grooming. The facility even has treadmills for dogs who need more activity… we didn’t even know that dogs could go on treadmills! The place is called Dogwood Cottage. Here is a brief summary taken from their website as well as how to get in touch with them.  To get the inside scoop on Dogwood Cottage make sure to subscribe to the C.L.P Newsletter…

Ask City Living Puppy…

February 8th, 2010

Dear City Living Puppy,

Can you recommend a dog puzzle – or a place to buy one. Anna Nicole is very bored staying inside this winter. She only gets to socialize when she goes to doggy day care two days each week and so on the other wintry days she needs some activity.

Anna Nicole

Dear Anna Nicole,

Winter is the worst for us dogs! I have found some games/puzzles that are interactive and keep me busy! You can also (if your mom has time) have her throw a ball around the house for you to find or hold onto one end of a shoe tie and let you pull from the other. Now for the times when your mom has to work and can’t entertain you here are a few games to keep you busy. Below each game is the link to the website where you can purchase the game.

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any questions you ever have! That is what I am here for!

1. Hide a BEE Hide Plush Puzzle

The instructions say:

  • Your dog will be most attracted to IQube if your scent is on the toy. To best transfer your scent to the toy, we recommend you place it in your laundry basket of already worn, but unlaundered and dry, clothes for a minimum of 12 hours before introducing it to your pet.

  • Next, introduce your dog to the squeaker balls by removing them from inside the cube and playing with them interactively with your pet for a few minutes.

  • Once your pet is engaged and interested in the squeaker balls, place the balls back inside the cube. Squeak them several times after they have been placed inside the cube, and let your dog go from there. After your dog has successfully removed the squeaker balls from the cube, you may replace them repeatedly for maximum fun, entertainment and skill development.

  • Most dogs also enjoy trying to get treats and other toys out from inside the cube.

2. Dog Magic dog game

This game is unique. It is a puzzle treat game from Nina Ottosson that allows you to hide dog treats underneath the bones. Dogs need to figure out how to get to the treats by moving the bones with a nose or paw.

3. Cagey Cube

Like the Original IQube, the Cagey Cube is a colorful big soft puzzle cube for dogs, but this one has cage bars on the sides, making it easier for the dog to see what is inside, and get the toys out.

  • The dog works to get them out, it keeps dogs amused and eliminates boredom.

  • Comes with a pyramid, small soft cube, ball, cylinder and jack that fit inside.

  • Entertains and challenges!

  • Well-made and durable.

  • 6” Square soft cube has squeakers.
