The Taj Hotel = Dog Biscuits

January 15th, 2010

Yes you heard me guys… the door man at The Taj Hotel gives out dog biscuits!! Today my mom and I were out doing some errands. We went to Paper Source (pet-friendly) and a few other places and were heading home when I found out this amazing secret! I was minding my own business walking along side my mother when I heard a guy say, “Does someone want a dog biscuit?”

I stopped dead in my tracks. I looked up at my mom praying she would say it was okay! The doorman walked over to me and handed me a biscuit. I couldn’t believe it. Matt and my mom had given me a bath the day before so I thought maybe that was why he had stopped me. I mean The Taj is a pretty fancy hotel so I doubt they would have stopped me if I had been dirty or scruffy looking.

I did some of my cute moves like standing and jumping, wagging my tail, smiling, etc. All the moves that usually get me a few extra treats. He ended up giving me two and two for my mom to give me when we got home!!

Thank you doorman at The Taj!!

Pet Friendly Cities

January 12th, 2010

This morning while my mom was taking a shower I logged onto my Gather-Pets account. I came across this great article that I wanted to share with you all right away. The article is about the top ten dog-friendly U.S. cities. Boston is number three if you can believe it!! Click on the link below to find the number one pet-friendly city!! Is it your city?

#3 Boston, MA – When you don’t feel like driving and parking, take your leashed dog onto the subway with you. Then relax and watch the world go by as you hop from place to place in this historic city by the bay. Visit the Freedom Trail, and see where one of America’s most famous protests took place at Boston Harbor.

My Labor Day Weekend

September 11th, 2009

Whoever said that a four day weekend is long totally lied! I need like a six day weekend to be able to accomplish all I want with my mom.

Still sleepy..

Still sleepy..

My mom was very busy in the beginning of the weekend. She had her friends Rae and Jd’s wedding Friday night and some pre-wedding engagement Thursday night. I was not happy about either of these events but she had a great time so I forgave her. I got to hang out with my roommate both nights and we had a blast together. My mom told me all about the wedding and showed me pictures. She got to meet Victor’s niece Madison who she fell in love with. I hope I get to meet Madison, her mom Jen and her dad Juan next time they come to town.  Hint hint….

Since my mom drank at both of these occasions she wasn’t as motivated as usual on Friday and Saturday. Matt took us both to lunch on Friday at Tealux which was fun but this time they didn’t let me sit inside the patio area. I had to be tied to the outside but my mom is so smart! She sat next to the gate with a little slit in it so I could sneak in and sit under her chair. Way to go!! Saturday she said she needed the day to recuperate. We laid low with our roommate and went on a few walks.

Sunday morning my mom woke up early and got in the shower. I was so confused and a little worried. I mean why was she up so early and showering on a Sunday? My roommate woke up and hung out with me while mom showered. Come to find out later that we were all going to the Cape together for the night. Matt picked us up with his friend Ethan. I sat in the back with my mom and kept putting my whole head out the window! I love doing that but I don’t think its very comfortable for my mom when I do. I have to prop myself up on her arm and she kind of has to hold me so I don’t fall out or hit my head.

Once we got to the Cape I was more than ready to get out of the car. I ran around on the lawn (no harness or leash needed..yeah) for hours while Ethan, Matt, Carolyn and my mom sat on the deck laughing and getting sun. Not too long after Matt noticed another dog in the house. It was Sammy, Matt’s moms boyfriends dog. He is an 18 year old Bichon. At first I wasn’t so sure about him since he is old and all but we ended up having a blast together. I ran circles around him literally but he had way more energy than I had expected.

Monday we all hung outside and I got to play with Sammy. My mom and roommate snuck out when I wasn’t looking at went to my moms old Cape house. The book she wrote, Tangled Between the Sheets, takes place there. She wanted to get some pictures and my mom really misses that house. She told me it was the last place that she has happy memories of her whole family together. I wish she had told me that before she left because then maybe I wouldn’t have freaked out as much. As soon as I heard a car starting in the driveway I ran to the screen door. I saw my mom and roommate pulling out of the driveway. I started barking and jumping at the screen door. After they left I even ran into the street to try and find them but Matt came and got me. Sorry mom, I had no clue how special that house is to you!

We didn’t leave until late Sunday night and we were all exhausted Tuesday. My mom has been super busy finishing her book and meeting with agents. At first it was cool because I was so tired I just slept next to her while she worked but now I want her to play more!!

Yesterday we went for a really long walk and  I met the cutest four month old Cockapoo named Oliver. We had so much fun playing and I told his mom about my blog. I heard her ask my mom if she knew any dog walkers and my mom couldn’t think of any names but did know some. As I was listening I came up with a brilliant idea!! Are you ready??????

Here it is…. I have put a section up top labeled Dog Walkers. My mom and I got Daisy’s dog walker card yesterday (we love her) and we plan on collecting more. This way anyone looking for a dog walker in the back bay area can come to my site and find a reputable, trustworthy, five paw dog walker!!! Go check it out!!!

Cape Cod Adventure

July 26th, 2009

Dear Diary,

This past weekend was very different and scary at times. My mom woke up early on Saturday and my aunt and Matt were helping her pack a bag. I knew this was a bad sign. I sat outside the shower while she was getting ready for whatever her plans were. Then once she was ready she gave me a kiss and put me on the couch with my aunt. Usually my mom cleans before she goes anywhere but this time she wasn’t cleaning so I thought I was safe. WRONG! She was running late for her train so Matt was driving her. She said she loved me and left. I freaked out! Where the hell was she going?

Then my day turned even stranger. Matt packed his car and made me a bed and next thing I knew my aunt was waving good bye and we were off. We went to his parents house on the Cape. I was scared at first and threw up when we got there but my mom called a lot and Matt made me feel safe.

His mom took me for a long walk and I got to go to the beach. It was a lot of fun. I did pee on every rug which I don’t think she was happy about but hey I got to mark my spot! They also had this long rope thing that they put me on so I could run as fast as I wanted. It was pretty cool and tons of fun. Even though I was nervous at first I ended up loving the Cape! I hope I go back but hopefully my mom will come.

Matt had to keep sending my mom pictures of me because she was nervous. Turned out she was in New York for her college roommates bachelorette party.

Matt got me home late Sunday night just before my mom arrived. I was so excited when she got home that I accidentally bite her nose. My bad!

Today we are going to the apple store so I will write more later!

xoxo
