Where are you going?

Tan Man and I just did a one block lap…he saw some other dogs and was quite interested.  Lots of kids out playing too.  He gets excited and starts jumping!  I used the new expandable leash so he can get a little running room but  I still say he’d make a good sled dog by the way he pulls!

All is well.  Have a blast!

My mom left me! I had a bad feeling on Wednesday night when she began packing a rather large bag for herself. In the morning I was so tired but I woke right up when I saw my crate being taken to the car along with a lot of my stuff. Next thing I knew we were at Matts moms house. I like hanging out there so I was running around, playing, etc. I had no clue that in a few minutes my mom and Matt were leaving for Florida  Meghan’s wedding and I was staying here.

When they left I ran to the door and started barking and whimpering. I guess my mom was really sad and made Matt call to make sure I was okay even though I had just left me. Up top is the email Matt’s mom (Bev) sent to my mom and Matt as they were boarding the plane. I think my mom was having just as hard a time as I was. Monica (Mason’s mom, my other aunt) kept calling my mom to make sure she was okay. When she left Mason for the first time she was really sad so she could relate to how my mom was feeling.

Mom was gone for a lot of days! She left Thursday morning and didn’t pick me up until the following Tuesday night. I am not even sure how many days that is but I know it was more than one!

I ended up having a lot of fun with Bev and her boyfriend Stephen. I went to the Cape and got to run around, hung out with Matt’s grandparents one day, took a lot of walks, and even went to work with Bev one day. The first night I was a little nervous that they wouldn’t let me sleep in the bed and I hate sleeping alone. Luckily they let me sleep at their feet after that I knew I was in good hands.

My mom had an amazing time as well and she said that Meghan was the most beautiful bride. Next time she goes to Florida she promises to take me!

Mom came and picked me up last night. I was so excited I ran and jumped on her as soon as I saw her. I licked her face and kept jumping on her. I was so excited. Then I did the same to Matt and when we got home I did the same to my Roomie. Now I am on the couch and my mom is unpacking. It is a rainy day in Boston, gross!

All in all the trip went well for me and my mom. Thank you Bev and Stephen for taking such great care of me! I had a blast with you guys and can’t wait to see you again soon!!

Carnival

October 20th, 2009

I had a great weekend but it was very tiring. Just as I had guessed my mom, roommate and auntie all went out Friday night to celebrate Aunties birthday. We were all exhausted on Saturday since they got back (and woke me up) late!

Saturday morning there was a carnival outside of my house! My mom and auntie took me. There were these really big animals like dogs but scary. My mom told me they were ponies. I did not like them. There was a lot of food and I kept trying to get some but my mom told me stop. I liked the carnival because there were other little dogs with their parents and I got to play with them. I would have liked it more if there had been no ponies and someone had given me some food. Hint, hint… next year??

After we left the carnival we headed to the park. I got to play with my friend Oliver while my mom and aunt talked to his mom. Oliver’s mom met Giselle (Tom Brady’s lady) and her dog. She was telling my mom and aunt and about it and they were all really into it. I am not sure why they were… I mean who is Giselle? Is her dog really cool or something? Hmmm…

Sunday was a rainy day and each time I had to go to the bathroom I wanted to scream. I hate having to go outside in the cold rain to go to the bathroom… why must I? I wish my mom would go outside and I could inside… but that will never happen.

Sorry for not writing yesterday but I was taking care of mom but so far today she is back on track. Auntie left yesterday and my mom was sad. I snuggled with her and made sure I was on my best behavior! We went to the park and she attempted to do work but I could tell she was having a hard time concentrating. She is writing a childrens book about my adventures and she said it is much harder writing for children. Would you read a book about my adventures?

Well it is time for me to head out but I will write more later! Oh and before I forget the poll has ended and hotels are my next investigation! Thanks for voting guys!!

Happy 30th Birthday Auntie

Today is my auntie’s birthday! My mom and her have been best friends/sisters for exactly 20 years. How crazy is that? She slept over last night so I got to say happy birthday before anyone else. From my past birthday experiences I have learned that usually they all go out at night and leave me alone. I am hoping this birthday will be different but I doubt it.

Now onto the dog stuff. Today is the last day to vote for what you want me to investigate next so make sure you do it. Also I have added some great sweaters to my C.L.P Family Store. If your lucky maybe your mom or dad will buy you one. I am hoping I get one soon because I am freezing! And that’s it for today folks. Gotta go hang out with auntie now!!

Brrr…

I can not believe how cold it is outside! I was only a baby last year during the cold time so I have never experienced this before. You would think I would like it because of all of my fur but nope! I am freezing!! My mom said she will buy me some “winter” clothes. Should I be concerned?
Monday I got to go to the park for a long time and because it was a holiday (for some) a lot of my friends were out. I got to see Oliver and our mom’s chatted. He is getting the same surgery I had next week. Good luck Oliver!!
I also played with Rupert. We look like twins but he is a cockapoo and one month younger than me. By the time I got home I was exhausted!
Yesterday was cold and raining. I have decided that is the worst weather combo. Every time I had to go to the bathroom I wanted to cry! My aunt came over and hung out with us yesterday which was great as always!!
Today my mom has work to do..boring! But we have already gone to the park and I am sure we will go again later. Not sure what else is going on today… which makes me wonder if she is going somewhere later and putting me in my crate… hmmmmm

Fun Weekend

Hi Everyone
I am happy to say that my aunt got her safe and sound Friday night. She got in late so I didn’t get too spend a lot of time with her but luckily when I woke up in the morning she was still here! Here I am helping her unpack.

I Got Your Shoe Auntie

Me and my roommate, auntie and mom hung out all day Saturday! It felt like the days when Auntie lived here. My mom was very happy to have her home, I could tell. Saturday night my mom and roommate went out and slept in my crate. They got home much later then they had expected but I was fine. My roommate waited up for my mom and I to get back from our walk. It was freezing out and my mom told me it’s only going to get colder!!!
When we got home we all went to bed.

Sunday morning I was surprised how early my mom and roommate got up. Little did I know they were going to the Red Sox game. This time I was not happy being left at home. Thank god I didn’t find out till after that my Auntie and Matt had gone with them also. Not cool!

My mom told me that dogs are not allowed at Red Sox games and that is the only reason I couldn’t go. She told me the game revolves around some ball or something and I would probably want to chase it and we would all get in big trouble. By the time they got home all four of them looked like wounded soldiers. Matt was upset that the Red Sox lost, Auntie was tired, my roommate and my mom took me to the park but they were kinda dragging their feet. I appreciated it though!

Today is a holiday for some.. my roommate is working from home and as usual so is my mom. I like when they are both home! What are you doing today?

Guess Who’s Back…

ME!!!

I am one hundred percent back to my old self!! I can play, run, jump, bite, eat grass, and more. Yesterday I went to CVS with my mom and she let me play in the park for a very long time. I felt so free without the damn cone on my head!! Someone (hint hint) really should invent a body suit or something, anything besides that cone! It is humiliating first of all, hard to eat with, hard to sleep with, heavy to carry around the neck, I could go on but I will control myself.

Now back to what I was saying!! The cone is off and the park was a blast! My aunt is coming home tomorrow and I cant wait to see her. My mom is really happy also and really happy my cone is off. My poor mom has cuts on her cheeks from when I had the cone on and kept trying to snuggle with her. Luckily my aunt wont have to experience that since the cone is gone!

Well I am heading back to the park now and hoping I will see some friends. Sorry so short but I gotta get out and play!!

Sunday Funday …

Great news everyone… I heard my mom telling our roommate that the cone is officially coming off my head tomorrow!! YEAH!!!!

This weekend I took my first cab ride and babysat for the first time ever! It was an adventure! My mom and I took a cab to Victors brothers house to help babysit his one year old nephew, Lucas. The cab ride was really hot on the way there and for some reason we couldn’t open the windows. I was not too happy but I had just taken my last (yeah no more) steroid and was feeling rather sleepy. Think my mom might have timed out the medication with the cab ride… but I’m not sure.. hmmm?

Anyways, I had a lot of fun playing with Lucas and got to explore some new areas in Brighton. I was exhausted by the time my mom and I got home!! Little kids are a handful… let me tell you!!

Saturday it was raining and my mom was feeling a little under the weather. It was hard walking in the rain with the cone on my head and I was glad we didn’t go out much. Matt came over and we watched movies and ate too much food. It was a lot of fun plus I was still tired from babysitting!!

My roommate was away at a baby shower but when she got home today she brought me toys from Mike and Sasha. Thank you guys! I love them. My favorite is the football one.. I will take a picture later to share with the rest of you!

Now I am laying on the couch dreaming about how amazing I am going to feel tomorrow without this stupid cone on my head!

Thank You Lisa, Cody and Brandie Shaver

Hi Everyone,

I am not any better today, maybe worse! My mom is really nervous about me and making me go back to the vet tomorrow. Last night I wouldn’t even sleep in the bed, I stayed under the bed the whole night. Victor came over today and took me and my mom out to lunch. We went to the park quickly and then got takeout from Tealux. I really just wanted to get home but I knew my mom needed to get out at least for a little bit. I think she is starting to lose it and I feel bad. My roommate has had a crazy week at work and has been working super long hours sooo my mom has been alone in the house with me under the bed since Tuesday. My roommate visited me under the bed when she got home last night and even stayed up for a little bit with my mom even though she was exhausted! Thanks Roomie!!

Tonight when she got home she had a package for me. I was so excited because I don’t usually get mail. My mom opened it for me and brought it to me under the bed. I got the sweetest card and all natural dog toy from the Shavers. I love it! Thank you guys so much! It really brightened by day… I am now chewing my toy under the bed listening to my roommate, Victor and my mom chat in the living room.

Tonight is our friend Kris Feener’s birthday and we cant go because my mom has to stay home with me. Sorry Kris but hope you have a great birthday and once I am better we will all celebrate together!!

Well I gotta go because it is so hard typing from under the bed… my paws are hurting!!

I will let you know what happens at the vet tomorrow… wish me luck!!

Really?

Hi everyone… I am back… home and slowly recovering!

Yesterday was the worst evaaaar…(that’s for you victor)! The doctors poked and prodded me all day, they even shaved two different places on my paw to put a needle in. My mom finally came to get me around 5pm. I could hear her talking to the receptionist in the waiting room and began moaning extra loud so she wouldn’t leave me again.

I was so happy when I got to see my mom but also really out of it. My eyes were glassy and I was sore. The doctor told my mom what she had to do for me like giving me my medication, making sure I don’t run around, etc. Then the doctor showed my mom my surgery wound which still had a little blood coming out of it which the doctor reassured my mom was normal.

I could see the color draining out of my moms face as the doctor went over what they had done. My mom excused herself to go to the bathroom and that was when I knew for certain that my mom was not okay. I tried to follow her to the bathroom but the doctor was holding me and then I heard a crash. My mom fainted on the floor! I was scared and moaning until a few minutes later she came out. She was not looking good. She sat down, pulled herself together, checked me out and then we headed home.

Since the doctor said I couldn’t walk my mom had to carry me all the way home even though she was still feeling pretty weak. We had to stop a few times and “rest” before we eventually made it home. Once we got home I became even more frustrated than before because I thought my mom would have taken the dumb cone thing around my head off but she didn’t. Later when my roommate got home from work she made me and my moms favorite sugar cookies last night… love you Roomie! She is going to get us stuff at CVS thank god!

Needless to say I moaned and kept hitting the stupid cone on everything until 8am when my mom finally caved and took it off me. I feel bad for my mom because she hasn’t slept yet but I just can’t get comfortable. She tried to make one of her t-shirts into a diaper type thing so I couldn’t get at my wound but it kept coming off. Luckily Matt is going to try and find a onesie for me so I can’t get to my wound. My grandfather even offered to take us out for lunch but mom can’t leave me alone yet and I think all she really wants is to get some sleep.

Well I am going to stop typing now and try to let my mom get some sleep. I can’t promise anything though… I am a little playful pup who is not allowed to do anything…. this is the worst stupid surgery/recovery ever!!

Take the Cone Off Me!!

Surgery Today

Hi Everyone

This is Tanner’s mom Amanda writing to you. I just dropped Tanner off at the vet for his “male” surgery. Tanner made me promise to write and tell you guys where he is today! He wanted to write last night but I was being a mean parent and wouldn’t let him. Our roommate gave him a little pep talk while I got ready for bed, which I think made him less worried. I am sure he will tell you all about it once he can type again. Once again I am sorry for not letting him write last night but he needed his rest for today.

We left the house this morning at 8am and Tanner got to play in the park a little before we walked to the vet. In case he forgot to tell you he goes to Back Bay Vet. They are extremely nice there, I highly recommend them. He was kind of scared when we got there … oops I wasn’t supposed to tell you that… scratch that … what I meant to say was he wasn’t scared at all when we got there. He did say I am allowed to share with you guys that when he saw me signing all the forms at the vet it did make him begin to get a little fearful of what his day would be like.

He will be under until about noon and then hopefully ready to come home around 4pm. I will keep you posted on his status and I know he will be eager to write about his experience once he gets home!!
